RiffClub Privacy Policy

Effective date: January 5, 2026

RiffClub focuses on Riff metadata—track identifiers, loop timestamps, and optional captions—not audio uploads. We only collect the information needed to let you save loops, sync them across devices, and optionally participate in the public feed.

Data We Store

Storage Area Data Stored
On Device (Core Data)
  • Saved Riffs with track references, loop start/end times, captions, tags, and created timestamps
  • Local metadata needed to power playback and sorting inside Riff List
Personal iCloud Sync (CloudKit)
  • Copies of your private Riffs so they appear across your devices when sync is enabled
  • Optional CloudKit sharing records when you invite specific people to view a Riff
Public Riff Feed (CloudKit Public Database)
  • Riff metadata that you explicitly post publicly for discovery, including track references, loop times, and genre tags
  • Popularity counters such as save/like totals and limited anti-spam signals such as posting frequency

What We Do Not Store

  • No audio files are uploaded to our servers
  • We do not sell personal data
  • We do not collect payment information—Apple handles purchases through the App Store

Apple Services & Permissions

Apple Music / MusicKit

Apple Music and MusicKit power catalog access, metadata lookup, and playback functionality. Authentication is handled through your Apple ID.

iCloud / CloudKit

iCloud and CloudKit handle syncing, sharing, and public feed storage.

RiffClub does not directly access or store your Apple ID credentials. Authentication tokens and permissions are managed by Apple frameworks.

Data Sharing & Visibility

  • Riffs you choose to post publicly may be visible to other RiffClub users
  • Your personal Riff List stays private in your iCloud database unless you share a specific Riff or post it publicly
  • Support conversations may temporarily reference metadata you provide for troubleshooting purposes

Diagnostics

The app may receive limited diagnostic or crash information provided by Apple to help improve stability and reliability.

User Controls

  • Delete Riffs locally from Riff List at any time; deletions sync to iCloud when enabled
  • Remove your own public Riff Feed posts and reactions whenever you like
  • Disable iCloud sync for the app via Settings → [your name] → iCloud

Retention

  • Personal Riff List data remains available as long as you keep it in the app and have iCloud sync enabled
  • Public Riff Feed posts remain available until you delete them

Children & Eligibility

RiffClub is intended for users who meet the minimum age requirements defined by the App Store in their region.
